When the first Gentile worshippers of Christ arrived “from the East,” it was a sign of the fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy that the Redeemer of Israel would be a light for the nations. Over the centuries, the Church has commemorated the journey of the Magi alongside two other miraculous events recorded in the gospels: Christ’s baptism and his first miracle at the wedding at Cana. In this Feature, Ken Myers introduces listeners to various musical compositions created for Epiphany (January 6), the Church’s feast day celebrating the revelation of Christ to the world.
