This summer, classical Christian leaders will meet for a retreat centered on the enduring theme of goodness as understood through the classical and Christian tradition. The Society for Classical Learning (SCL) is hosting their 2026 Summer Conference in Dallas, Texas, from June 16 to 18. The theme of the conference is “Overflowing Generosity: Embracing God’s Abundance in Classical Education.”
SCL describes the theme of the conference this way: “This conference will explore how generosity can be cultivated and embodied within classical Christian education. From creating a culture of open-handedness in classrooms to the broader implications of stewardship in school communities, we will delve into how generosity shapes and sustains educational environments. Drawing on the teachings of the early Church, the wisdom of theologians like Augustine and Aquinas, and the practical examples from the lives of saints and educators, we will examine how generosity, as a reflection of God’s character, is essential for building strong, vibrant, and just learning communities. Through workshops, discussions, and spiritual reflection, attendees will be equipped to lead with a generous spirit, ensuring that their schools not only impart knowledge but also cultivate the virtues that lead to flourishing lives.”
