T. S. Eliot’s Four Quartets is regarded by many as his greatest accomplishment. In his book Dove Descending, Thomas Howard declared the work “along with Chartres Cathedral, the Divine Comedy, van Eyck’s ‘Adoration of the Mystic Lamb,’ and the Mozart Requiem, as a major edifice of the Christian West.” Today’s Feature presents a lecture about this monumental work, a talk given in 2019 by Dr. Janice Brown, author of The Lion in the Waste Land: Fearsome Redemption in the Work of C. S. Lewis, Dorothy L. Sayers, and T. S. Eliot (Kent State University Press, 2018). Her lecture is titled “T.S. Eliot’s Four Quartets and the Tyranny of Time.”
